THE DARK KNIGHT RISES – Toronto Black Carpet Premiere
Batman. Bane. DC Comics. Legend. I think you know where this is going? After a 4+ year wait, the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is set to open in Theatre’s July 20th. The film has so much buzz that early reviews hint at a possible Best Picture Academy Award. Nolan has proven that he is able to test the boundaries of filmmaking and end up with an amazing product.
To celebrate the opening of The Dark Knight Rises, Toronto was given its very own Black Carpet Premiere which took place outside the historic One King West Hotel, right after a set of special advance screenings at the Scotiabank Theatre. Here to promote the film were Nestor Carbonell, who reprises his role as Mayor Anthony Garcia, and Matthew Modine, who plays a new character in Nolan’s trilogy, Deputy Commissioner Foley. In addition, the stars of the film were joined by amazing Canadian talent who came out to support the opening of the film. In-Attendance were the gorgeous Lost Girl co-stars Ksenia Solo & Anna Silk, CBC design guru’s Steven & Chris, CBC EVP Kirstine Stewart, Little Mosque on the Prairie’s Zaib Shaikh, Flashpoint’s Tattiawna Jones, Nikita’s Rob Stewart and of course, the wonderful stars of Degrassi; Justin Kelly, Melinda Shankar, Annie Clark, Luke Bilyk and Aislinn Paul.
